Dr. Thornton

Dr. Thornton

Hi, I’m Dr. Alexandra Thornton. I am a Central California native who loves living in Sacramento. I live with my very patient husband, small feral humans, and some good-for-nothing cats. I write in my spare time, but as a mom and business owner, there is little time to spare these days! I’ve been a veterinarian since 2015 and love this profession more each year. I have the coolest job in the world because I am surrounded by other people who love animals. With the Sactown Vet promise in mind, I feel privileged to help you and your pet. I am delighted to have this responsibility and can’t wait to meet you.

Dr. Cole

Dr. Cole

I’m Dr. Cole Gevurtz (“Dr. Cole”)! I grew up in Napa and am a proud California native. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Biology from UC San Diego and earned my doctorate at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. I am a Fear-Free certified professional and a certified Cat-Friendly Veterinarian as part of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. I am passionate about making veterinary visits enjoyable and low-stress for my patients and their owners. I work hard to provide the best healthcare for my patients and treat them with integrity, compassion, and empathy. I look forward to building relationships with my clients and providing loving care for their furry friends. I enjoy collaborating with my team, serving my community, and being a role model for women in science. I live with my two cats, Eleanor and Crunch, and two canine friends, Captain, a Golden Retriever, and a Cocker Spaniel mix named Holly. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my friends, family, and pets. I’m excited to meet you and become your local family veterinarian!

Dr. Nunes

Dr. Nunes

Hi, I’m Dr. Jordan Nunes! I grew up in Tracy, CA, and graduated with my DVM from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. I am thrilled to call East Sacramento my home and feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the local community and their pets. Every aspect of this profession brings me joy, but I have a particular affinity for dermatology, gastrointestinal disease, and soft tissue surgery. When I’m not working, I enjoy hot yoga, caring for my plants, and spending time with my friends and family. I am definitely a cat person (although I love dogs too!), and I currently have an orange cat named Richard who is full of personality. I’m so looking forward to meeting you and your pets!

Dr. DiNinni

Dr. DiNinni

Hi, I’m Dr. Angielee DiNinni. I grew up in California and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Psychology. I enjoyed working for several years as a veterinary assistant in a leadership role prior to graduating with honors from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. I spent a year completing the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Small Animal rotating internship, which provided a breadth of experience as a doctor in many individual specialities within the field. I’m happy to be here at Sactown Vet now, where I have the opportunity to cultivate lifelong relationships with you and your furry family members. I believe that empowering you through client education enables you to make the best decisions for your family and feel confident in the health of your pets.

I love living just over the bridge in West Sacramento with my husband, two fabulous dogs, one cat, several chickens, and two ducks! I enjoy frequent tent camping, boating, visits with extended family, reading, and projects around the house. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets!

Nina, RVT, Practice Manager

Hey there, I’m Nina! I’ve been in the veterinary field as a registered veterinary technician for ten years, so I am excited to apply all my experience working in the field to Sactown Vet’s management. When not busy with business tasks or assisting on the floor, I can be found caring for my small army of pets—one old-man pitty named Hercules and many, many cats!—or finding new places to hike and explore Northern California. I’m here to ensure everything about your Sactown Vet experience meets expectations, so don’t hesitate to let me know how I can help!
